Mum's view

Name: .

How often do you work?
I teach 8 classes a week spread over 3 mornings (including a pre-school and I also lead Little Music Stars parties)

How does the job fit around your family life?
This job fits perfectly around my family life as I can choose when I teach my classes to fit in with my children's school and nursery hours.

How much time do you commit?
Other than the classes themselves there is a bit of planning and a very small amount of admin but this doesn't take up too much time at all.

Where do you carry out your work?
In various pre-schools, halls and community centres in the local area.

Do you need a car?
Yes, a car is essential.

Do you get support/training?
Yes, I got a lot of support from the director of Little Music Stars. She is always there to answer any questions and help with any problems.

Would you recommend this opportunity to other mums?
I would definitely recommend this opportunity. This is a hugely enjoyable and rewarding job. I always leave work with a huge smile on my face! The music programme itself is really good quality; well structured with lots of original songs and exciting themes so work never gets boring. It is a joy to teach. It is a great job for mums as your hours can be work around your family commitments.

Are there any downsides to the role?
No! For me, this is the perfect job for this stage in my life.
