Working for:
Caudwell Children

Description:

Established in 2000, Caudwell Children is a national Charity which works to transform the lives of disabled children and their families, enabling them to challenge the barriers they face throughout childhood by providing practical and emotional support.

The Charity is going through an exciting period of growth having recently opened a new state-of-the-art facility for multi-disciplinary therapy programmes for childhood disability and research of neurodevelopmental conditions, including autism, within the grounds of Keele University.

We are looking for a motivated and passionate Sessional Activities Support Worker to join our team at Caudwell Children. The main purpose of this role is to support our Children’s Activity Lead during activity clubs, in the delivery of fun and effective sessions. Also to occasionally plan and implement fun, inspiring and challenging leisure activities for disabled children and young people that build life skills and promote independence, whilst also providing carers with vital short break respite. Activities are supported by funding and grants from local area commissioners and delivered with the assistance of a network of volunteers.

The post holder will be expected to attend and support at 3-hour long sessions, and effectively deliver these alongside the Activity Lead.

This post has the potential to cover 8 areas across Staffordshire, these being; Leek, Stafford, East Staffs, Lichfield, Tamworth, Cannock & South Staffs. Commitment to travel across these areas for mainly weekend work is expected, with the occasional evening work.
