How often do you work?
I try to do at least one thing every day. Sometimes it is 15 minutes, sometimes 3-4 hours. I also often have stall at local weekend events.

How does the job fit around your family life?
My children have always been a priority to me. When I started my Usborne business I wanted it to work around my commitments and this suited perfectly! I work during the day (2-3 hours), evenings after bed time and sometimes at weekends. As I am the boss, it is always possible to re-schedule, come up with a short-notice plan and work remotely.

How much time do you commit?
Overall I would think I spend between 8 and 10 hours a week doing various Usborne jobs. I only do what I like and only when I can. Planning ahead helps!

Where do you carry out your work?
Mostly from home, also at schools, local events and home parties.

Do you need a car?
You don't have to have a car but it makes it much easier if you have to carry books, a table and a book stand. Some of my team members had Usborne pay for driving lessons so they can get around more!

Do you get support/training?
Training is provided by the head office, team leaders and mentors. You get what you want - resources are always available for you!

Would you recommend this opportunity to other mums?
Definitely would recommend it. Give it a go, there is very little risk involved, if it really isn't for you then you can always stop and move on. Nobody will judge!

Do you advertise?
I advertise a little, mostly for free.

Are there any downsides to the role?
You do get a bit lonely sometimes, so it's a good thing to sty in touch with your mentor and other team members. Also you can build your own team - choose who you would like to work with and recruit them!
