The Natal Family

The Natal Family offers accredited teacher training to run our MummyNatal and/or BabyNatal classes in your own area. Being part of our family offers you the opportunity to support and empower parents on their parenting journeys, with all of the benfits of being self-employed and being part of an amazing family of Practitioners.

You can train as:

  • a FEDANT accredited antenatal teacher, running MummyNatal mindfulness & birth ball exercise courses, our BabyNatal Practical Care classes, or our Natal Birth workshops for mum and birth partner(s).
  • an accredited AoFA Pediatric First Aid trainer, teaching parents what to do in an emergency first aid situation.
  • a FEDANT accredited Baby Class leader, offering developmental baby massage and sensory play classes from birth - 8 months.

Investment Required:
Joining The Natal Family as a teacher starts at £1295.00 and includes:

  • All your training, manuals & assessments
  • An exclusive teaching area
  • Annual CPD, membership of the practitioners online forum, and ongoing teacher mentoring
  • Use of a basic teaching kit
  • Marketing & Social Media Support
  • A Natal email address and profile on our website

Flexible depending on how much you wish to work. There are no minimum/maximum limits.

Whatever you want it to be, depending on how many classes you want to teach. You will be awarded FEDANT accredited status on successful completion of the training, therefore able to offer your classes to your local PCT, Childrens Centres or Hospitals supporting their parentcraft programmes

    Best suited to:
Mums who are looking for a family-friendly opportunity! You must be a parent yourself, have an empowering & non-judgmental approach towards other parents, and be passionate about supporting other expectant and/or new parents.

Our Founders have two published books 'The Expectant Dad's Handbook' and 'The His and Hers Guide to Pregnancy & Birth'.

    How often do you work?
I teach group classes two evenings a week, two Saturdays a month, daytime classes during the week and then ad-hoc private classes in the evenings and weekends.

How does the job fit around your family life?
The great thing about working as part of The Natal Family is that I have the flexibility and freedom to teach as often or as little as I like. I can take time out when I need to and my work fits very well around my other family commitments.

How much time do you commit?
I commit lots of time to my business as it is my full time job. I started teaching with The Natal Family four years ago and have gradually increased the amount of time that I dedicate to my business especially now that my son is at school and I have more time during the day. The great thing is that I decide when and how often I teach.

Where do you carry out your work?
I teach in village halls, gyms, fitness studios, Children's Centres and in clients' own homes. I occasionally teach in my own home as well.

    Do you need a car?
I have quite a bit of teaching kit so a car is needed to transport my kit to my teaching venues.

    Do you get support/training?
The training is first class and the ongoing support from HQ is brilliant. We have a great online practitioners group where I can chat with other teachers around the country and mentors to help me with my business and teaching. We also have an annual CPD day where all of the teachers get together and continue our learning as well as socialising.

Would you recommend this opportunity to other mums?
Definitely! Joining The Natal Family as Practitioner has been amazing for me. I love running my own business and working with expectant parents, supporting them and empowering them to make the right choices for them is so rewarding. I have learnt so much personally from my teaching and made a group of amazing friends along the way.

    Do you advertise?
I have my own website and social media accounts and do lots of my marketing face to face. After four years of teaching lots of my clients come to me through recommendation and word of mouth. I am also provided with flyer templates by Natal HQ that I get printed locally.

Are there any downsides to the role?
There aren't really any downsides, the biggest challenge is that being self-employed does require hard work and motivation, but I have great support from HQ and from other teachers and the rewards are huge.
