Would you like to start your own successful business offering award-winning pre-school classes, parties and events to parents and carers in your local area? Would you like a flexible job which fits around family life? We want to let you know about a brilliant opportunity – with the potential to earn a significant income.

In 2016 Little Learners was a finalist in six national awards, including achieving ‘Highly Commended’ for Franchisor of the Year in the mumandworking Awards and Best New Children’s Activity in the What’s on 4 Junior Awards in June 2016!

In 2017 we went on to win Business Growth of the Year in the Networking Mummies Awards, New Woman Franchisor in the EWIF Awards, Best Newcomer in the Top Franchise Awards and three of our franchisees were up for Franchisee of the Year.

Our mission is simple, help every child make their mark! Little Learners is a unique and exciting mark making class devised by a qualified teacher. It is designed for babies, toddlers and preschoolers to learn to write through play. Its aim is to develop children’s pre-writing motor skills, as well as their physical development (taking full account of the EYFS).

    Name: Holly

    Location: Southport

Family: 5 year old and 2 year old (and husband)

    How often do you work?
3 classes a week (3-4 hours each) and 1 or 2 Saturday's a month for 3-4 hours. I do an hour or so admin every evening as well. So around 25-30 hours a week.

How does the job fit around your family life?
I set my own hours and plan my classes and events around my commitments. I look at venues for my classes and their locations and work out timings so that I can take my little boy to school and little girl to nursery first. Both of my children have attended lots of classes with me which is one of the best things about this franchise. I can plan and work after the children have gone to bed.

Where do you carry out your work?
Church halls, tennis clubs, village halls, nurseries.

    Do you need a car?

    Do you get support/training?
Yes. One of the most positive and brilliant things about this franchise is the support that you get from Rachel - our managing director is amazing and supports you every step of the way. We have a brilliant network of franchisees whom I am in daily contact with and now our company has regional coordinators too so there are more of us now to support each other.

Would you recommend this opportunity to other mums?
Yes, absolutely. Any mum who is interested in childcare, education, learning and who is hardworking and passionate. We are a brilliant franchise and full of love and support for each other. We all work hard and help each other. Buying this business was the best thing I ever did.

    Do you advertise?
Yes, I use social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram, leaflets and websites which advertise baby classes such as Hoop.

Are there any downsides to the role?
For me, no. It is an adjustment being self employed and going from a guaranteed income to a variable one but I am hardworking and determined and was desperate to get my life back. I wanted more time with my children whilst they were young and less pressure and stress from my job. This role has given me my freedom back and time with my children. That is priceless, and I know that I can match and exceed my teacher salary if I want to.
