Someone who is looking for regular part time work and can commit to a weekly timetable. Sports background is not as essential as the techniques can be taught but a bubbly personality is key.
Location: Forest Hill, SE23 3YL
Family: George (Son, 2 years old) Michael (husband)
How often do you work?
How does the job fit around your family life?
I used to work in the corporate sector for a sales and marketing consultancy firm as a learning and development consultant. The hours were long and included travel so started Mini Athletics SE London to have a meaningful job that was local to where I live and meant I could reduce my working hours to 3.5 days a week and have more time with my son.
How much time do you commit?
At the moment it is around 30 hours a week but looking to reduce that as the business gets more established.
Where do you carry out your work?
I do the admin from home and currently am the Lead coach for all the classes on the timetable which are in lovely venues within a 5 mile radius of Forest Hill
Do you need a car?
yes - the equipment needs to be taken to the venue- it is a large kit bag plus a banner to put up outside the venue to help parents find the location so a car is required. However, if there was a lead coach who was amazing but didn't have a car, I could find a work around to that
Do you get support/training?
Yes, I would provide full training to the lead coach to make sure they developed the required teaching style and sport techniques. I also received a comprehensive 3 day in person training when I took on the franchise and receive regular mentoring from the franchisors
Would you recommend this opportunity to other mums?
Do you advertise?
Yes, I advertise on FB and use local forums and magazines like SE23 to advertise the classes plus rely on happy parents word of mouth
Are there any downsides to the role?
I only started the business a couple of months ago so the first few weeks have been very busy with more admin that I had expected. But it is getting easier with each week and having a lead coach to join me would really help a lot
