Mum's view

Name: Laura

Location: Selby

Family: 2 girls and lots of pets

How often do you work?
I work most days during school terms but do much less when the girls are home

How does the job fit around your family life?
It is so flexible - I love it! I can work it in the small pockets of time that I have. When I am out with the girls I might be also working (networking) - but it never feels like that.

How much time do you commit?
I spend between 2 and 12 hours a week depending on what else is going on in a busy household. If the children are home or ill or we want to do family stuff, that comes first.

Where do you carry out your work?
I speak to people at the school gates, out on walks with the dog or I may meet people in a coffee shop. Often I am working at my dining room table with my ipad and phone.

Do you need a car?
A car is not essential but I find it useful as I live in a quiet village with poor public transport

Do you get support/training?
Its second to none! I especially like the training we get from well established, successful business owners who share their top tips freely with us.

Would you recommend this opportunity to other mums?
Definitely! I was looking for something that would challenge me on a mental level, something that I would feel successful in and something that ultimately would give me complete flexibility. I didn't want to be dictated to by a boss, if my child was ill I wanted to be able to spend the day on the sofa with them. and to spend other special moments with them

Do you advertise?
I dont really find I need to advertise but sometimes put together a post card to put in local shops

Are there any downsides to the role?
Not really - I love having my independence back and I know that I am contributing to the household income but having all the benefits of a stay at home mum
