Community Fundraiser - North Yorkshire (east)

This is your opportunity to join one of the most successful community fundraising teams in the sector, where your work will be focused on building long-term relationships to grow a network of inspired and engaged local communities supporting Marie Curie in your own designated fundraising area.
A key element of your role will be to support, develop and inspire volunteers and fundraising groups to ensure local fundraising activity is as effective as possible in delivering the maximum benefit for Marie Curie. Your work will include supporting and delivering the local running of national campaigns, such as the Great Daffodil Appeal and Swimathon, through relationships built with individuals, groups, associations and companies.
It is important for you to have the ability to use your sound communication and supporter relationship skills, to ensure that we continue to maintain and grow the income we need to support the work of Marie Curie across Yorkshire.
You will be part of the Yorkshire Community Fundraising Team, and responsible for our community fundraising in the North Yorkshire (East) patch which includes the surrounding areas of York (but not the city centre), Kirkbymoorside, Pickering, Malton, Scarborough, Filey, Whitby and Upper Eskdale. We already have an excellent supporter base across this area and you will be working to maintain and grow this network, securing new support and raising awareness of Marie Curie across the area. This role is mainly home based, with a minimum of one day a week in our York office, and we are particularly interested in hearing from candidates who live in the North Yorkshire (East) area itself.
You'll be fully mobile providing you with the flexibility needed to work in the community to build a successful network of supporters.
Interested candidates should hold their full UK driving license and have access to a vehicle.
35 hours per week on a permanent basis- A Combination of being home based but with one day a week minimum at our office in Elvington, York.
£24000 - £31000 per annum + negotiable depending on experience. In return for your own commitment, we commit to actively developing you and offer a comprehensive Community Fundraising Training Pathway, buddying, mentoring, shadowing and coaching through your individually tailored personal development plan.

Ideally, you'll come to us with some insight into how community fundraising works but this isn't essential. We are looking for someone with strong relationship building skills and whilst you may not have worked in the charity sector before now, you may have all the relevant transferable skills from working in hospitality, customer service roles, event management, marketing, sales, or PR.
