Working for:
Pudding and Pie Limited

Pudding and Pie is a great way to educate, engage and encourage children about food and nutrition. In addition to teaching them basic cookery skills it’s great fun too!

Each session’s primary focus is on fun, play and getting messy. They will learn about food safety and hygiene whilst creating their own dish from recipes which carefully selected for its nutritional value so that your child gains a taste for good, healthy food.

Each session consists of fun food related games, creating their own dish, tasting sessions and circle/socialisation time. Sessions are highly interactive so last for 60 minutes to keep their attention going.

Children will get to explore new tastes and learn the basics regarding the role of nutrition in the body.

Your customers will be in the community in the form of a private class, after school club, party, nursery, school or a combination of them all. And don't worry you will get all the help and support of a proven, tried and tested formula that works!

Be part of the Pudding and Pie team from as little as £750 and teach kids all about food glorious food.

You can choose to make this a full time business or a part time business if you have other commitments such as the school run, school holidays and other family responsibilities. It really is down to you to decide but the more hours you choose to work the more you can earn.

An example could be £47K doing 25/30 hours a week. This is based on running 20 sessions throughout the week. This is a combination of nurseries, schools, after school clubs, parties and private classes. It really is up to you on what kind of classes you want to run and when you want to run them! If you want to work less hours then you can. You’re your own boss!

Best suited to:
Self motivated, confident individuals that enjoy working with children and a passion for food.

Location: Nottingham

Family: 1 child, with SEN

How often do you work?
11 x 1hr classes a week. Split between 5.5 days.

How does the job fit around your family life?
My job fits EXACTLY around my child's needs, because I am in control of what I do & when. Down to how many classes I run, when & where. I have planned it so that my classes do not interfere with her schooling or activities.

How much time do you commit?
30 – 40 hrs a week. That includes the time setting up, being at, and breaking down each class (11 x 1.5hrs). Plus work done at home & shopping for ingredients.

Where do you carry out your work?
In various local village venues.

Do you need a car?
Definitely. I need it to move all the equipment & ingredients required for each class around to the various venues.

Do you get support/training?
Plenty of support. No training needed. Although I’m sure I would have been given some if required.

Would you recommend this opportunity to other mums?
If you enjoy the freedom of being your own boss, being creative & inventive with advertising, event planning etc, if you enjoy baking, and working with children, then this franchise would work for you. You HAVE TO however be a very self motivated person. It is not something you can go into without lots of enthusiasm for the role, and plenty of personal drive. It's a very flexible job.

Do you advertise?
Yes. Mostly on Facebook, sharing page posts to other local pages. And by book bagging local schools.

Are there any downsides to the role?
Can’t think of any! Maybe the fear of letting a class down if I were to be ill or unable to take it.
