Name: Dawn Young
Location: North East
Family: Husband, 4 kids and a dog
How often do you work?
This varies throughout the year. For example I work longer hours on the run up to Christmas, which allows me time to take time off kids over the summer holidays.
How does the job fit around your family life?
It fits in perfectly! I drop the kids off at school in the morning, then head off to one of my planned baby and toddler events with my Popolo Ceramico kit. Normally events last between 1-2 hours. After the event, I head home, have a few hours in the afternoon, pick the kids back up and then after tea, when the kids are in bed, I finish off creating the ceramic orders from the event.
How much time do you commit?
It varies, but on average I work about 3 days per week, for about 3-4 hours per day.
Where do you carry out your work?
I attend a variety of baby and toddler events to capture orders, then I have a small home studio which I use to complete orders in my own time.
Do you need a car?
Yes, as it's mainly a mobile business, I use my car to take my kit to events, drop off orders, etc.
Do you get support/training?
Absolutely! The franchiser and the Popolo Ceramico team are always on hand to help with any queries and ongoing training and support is provided.
Would you recommend this opportunity to other mums?
The products are amazing and they really do sell themselves. It also means that I can work part-time, run my own business, earn a fantastic salary but most importantly the hours work perfectly around the kids and allows me to drop them off and pick them up from school everyday and take all of the school holidays off with them.
Do you advertise?
I use Facebook and flyers to advertise, but the majority of my business is through word of mouth and repeat custom.
Are there any downsides to the role?
On the run up to Christmas is can me working longer hours to get all of the orders completed, however it means that in the summer I can take time off with the kids.
