Arthritis Action is the UK’s only ‘hands-on' arthritis charity. We provide a physical and mental self-management approach to empower people with arthritis to live active lives, free from the impact of arthritis.

The Area Coordinator role involves setting up, organising, supporting, nurturing, and facilitating the safe running of Arthritis Action Groups across the Midlands and the North of England. These Groups inform, educate, and support those affected by arthritis, and deliver varied services which may include educational speakers, healthy eating and weight management initiatives, exercise and peer support. 

This role is also responsible for recruiting and managing volunteers to help support Arthritis Action’s work across the Midlands and the North of England. Working with the Charities networking plan, you will identify networking opportunities, present the work of Arthritis Action to relevant individuals and organisations within your area, as well as organise and attend local Groups and Events.

As the Area Coordinator, you will play a vital role in the Charity by establishing and maintaining effective communication across this area and the Head Office.

You will need excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills; a minimum of 2 years’ experience of running Groups and/or managing volunteers; a self-starter, able to work on own initiative as required; experience of representing or being an ambassador for an organisation; combined with first class IT skills and a good understanding of MS Office.

Full-Time (37.5 hours per week)

Best suited to:
The post will be located in the Midlands area, working from home. Travel to London, across the Midlands and the North of England will be an essential part of the role, which may require driving or using public transport. Therefore, owning or having access to a vehicle is essential.
