John Lewis Swim Nappy A swim nappy enables you to take your baby swimming, whilst not having to worry about little accidents. It's just like a nappy, except it's water proof, has a towelling lining and a fun pattern. The John Lewis Swim Nappy is available in several fabrics - fun fishes, check, stripe and flowers. Available is sizes 3 months - 24 months. RRP £6.00 | Available from John Lewis | www.johnlewis.com |
This swim nappy was made from nice colourful patterned fabric which appealed to my son. It was obvious how to use it and Benjamin who is starting to dress himself managed to pull the swim nappy up without any problems, The elastic fitted comfortably around his legs and looked secure. He really liked wearing it - he liked the different colours of the fabric and was happy both in and out of the water. My son didn't perform any number '2's' whilst wearing it, but if he had it looked like the nappy would have been secure enough to keep things in! We did however have a small incident as I was putting our clothes into the locker I turned around to find a puddle on the floor, so it hadn't stopped any wee's. It washed very well. I even put it on a hot wash (due to incident) and it came out fine. It dried quickly as well, so long as it was inside out. I have actually used John Lewis swim nappies in the past and have always found them good value for money - they are cheaper than the leading brands and do a reasonable job. I would recommend this swim nappy for older babies/toddler's who have more control of their bladder as it doesn't hold in any wee's. |
Gorgeous print, lovely bright colours and sweet frill all the way around. I would have been drawn to this in the shop. Very easy to put on Ursula, it has elasticated legs and waist. She seemed very happy in it. It was a good fit on Ursula and although she didn't have any 'incidents' in this particular nappy we have used John Lewis nappies before and I can vouch that they do the job they're designed to!! Washed well. It does take longer to dry than the other two designs as it has a towelling layer on the inside as opposed to a mesh that the other two have. I have always bought John Lewis nappies in the past and think they are great value for money and I would recommend them to other parents. |
I really liked the design of this swim nappy and it was very snug and secure, unfortunately I think it was a bit too snug and seemed too small for Finlay. He isn't 24 months yet, but the 18-24 months size really wasn't big enough. However we squeezed him into this nappy and it did the job keeping him for having an accident in the pool. This is a good value nappy and I'd recommend it to parents, it just might be worth testing the size before you buy. |

This swim nappy had a very colourful design. Benjamin commented on all of the different colours! I thought that with this nappy on he would definitely stand out in a crowd! It was ok to put on him, but didn't seem to fit as well as the other two tested and the poppers seemed like an added complication rather than positive addition. Benjamin seemed comfortable in it, but after 20 mins he said it was falling down. It didn't seem to stay on very well, even though it appeared to be fitted ok. I had to pull the nappy back up as it started to fall down whilst he was swimming. We had no incidents, but it clearly states on the packaging that it only holds in poo's! It washed well. In terms of value for money I would have expected it to be cheaper than the other brands because it didn't perform so well, but it was in fact the most expensive nappy we tested. I would prefer a nappy with easier adjustment, and more retention of incidents. I was really pleased with the minimalist packaging it came in though. |
The design reminded me of Superman! They're really shiny and bright red. I would never take these off the shelf to buy based solely on appearance. They're also quite boyish in colour. These were the easiest to put on as you put them on like a nappy. Although one might prefer a pull-up style like the John Lewis one with an older toddler. Ursula was happy in it initially but it became looser in the water. The fit was not brilliant, Ursula is in the middle of the weight band for this size but I'd say they were slightly on the big side. Although this nappy is extremely lightweight, compact and fast drying, a major downside for me, is it's hand wash only - not something any mother wants to be involved with after an 'incident'. I think that an 'incident' would be contained but with just the two, fine layers would be obvious and a little embarrassing. I prefer the other two nappies which look great, are machine washable, elasticated and have 3 layers, one of which is plastic which keeps the little one's modesty! I didn't feel this nappy offered such good value for money as the other two I tested. |
This was my favourite swim nappy that we tested. I liked the boyish colour and the design. Finlay was happy and comfortable wearing it and it fitted well. The poppers made it easy to get on and off. It did the job of holding in an incident in the pool and washed well. For us this was the best value nappy that we tested as it was the one that fitted Finlay best and that he was most happy swimming in. |

This fabric swim nappy is re-usable for a healthier environment. Stylish and snug and prevents embarrassing accidents with its hidden protective layer. The Zoggs Marengo Swim Nappy Bikini is a sweet set. The tethered cord around the waist ensures a secure fit. The swim nappy bikini is reusable making it environmentally friendly - simply rinse and dry ready to use again. Stylish and snug fitting with hidden protective layer and flower motif RRP £7.99 | Available from Zoggs - www.zoggs.com |
This swim nappy was quite plain, and looked more like traditional swimming trunks. My son liked the bright royal blue colour with the little seal on the front. It came with detailed instructions - far more than necessary! Also included the rest of the Zoggs range. The swim nappy was very easy to put on,drawstring worked well. Benjamin seemed really happy in it. I noticed that when we took them off, there was water inside which gushed out, showing that it holds any spills in well. It washed well. Compared to previous swim nappies I've used this one was very good and reasonable priced. I'd definitely recommend this swim nappy to other parents as it has the added feature of successfully holding wee in. |
I loved the design; I was so excited when I unpacked it. I've only ever bought nappies before not a full bikini but this has changed me now, it is adorable. I loved the halterneck design, the girlie colour, the sparkly fabric, the daisy on the bum. Just lovely. The only thing I would say is that I'd prefer the logo to be more discreet, I've never bought anything with a name across the chest before. The top was incredibly easy to put on Ursula, slipped over the head and then simple velcro round the back, there's also added protection of a loop to thread the back through. The bottoms were relatively easy to get on but not so easy to take off. The bottoms are drawstring which is really good as it ensures a snug fit; however, when the cord is wet it's quite difficult to untie. With a wriggly baby who's wet and getting cold, that was quite problematic. Both the top and bottom stayed in place when we were swimming. I had suspected that the top would ride up but it didn't. A great feature of this set was it comes packaged in a press-studded plastic pack which I used to keep the wet nappy in after our swim. It did hold in an accident and it washed really well! If I saw them in the shop or magazine, I might have thought that £7.99 was a little steep but now that I have handled them and used them, I do think that they are good value for money. I'd definitely recommend this set to other parents. |
I really liked the simple design and colour of this swim nappy, but unfortunately it wasn't really big enough for Finlay so wasn't that comfortable for him. I liked the drawstring feature and it did feel as though in the right size it would have been effective at holding in any incidents. Finlay wasn't very comfortable wearing this swim nappy, but as with the John Lewis nappy I think this was a size issue for us rather than a fault with the nappy. Again I would recommend it to other parents, but you'd need to check the size for your child. |
