We really liked the "pod" shape and size of this travel cot. Its a plain colour so suitable for both boys and girls. This was the easiest of the 3 to put together, very simple and quick. Total time to build 45 seconds! It comes with very clear instructions printed on the base, not only to erect, but also to dismantle so you could never lose them. Size-wise it's smaller than the other two travel cots tested, so in terms of how long you could use it for I'd say it would be less time than the other two. Ruby seemed very comfortable in it. It was easy to put up and down, light and easy to manoeuver. We used it with the Sleep Safe Mattress which is an extra £25 purchase on top of the £70 price of the cot (its not essential, but we thought as Ruby is little it would make her even more comfortable). Even with this additional cost I think the Mamas and Papas offers great value for money and exactly what we were looking for in a Travel Cot. |
I liked the modern design of this cot - the only downside was it was a bit 'boring' as there was no colour to break up the design. Very, very easy to put up - I could easily do it on my own and the instructions were good and clear. The size was fine for Amy, but I don't think it would last much beyond 18 months as she would be too big. Its a really good lightweight cot though and ideal for travelling in the UK (didn't take up all my boot space!) and abroad. |
I liked the design of this cot, especially the way you can see into all the sides. I think this is great as I like to keep my eye on my daughter! It is very plain in terms of design and extras/accessories but this is fine. Nothing for baby to look at though. It was very, very easy to put up and I thought it was a great idea printing the instructions on the base. I would not need to use the instructions again though as it was so easy to put up. Chloe was very comfortable in it and I would definitely be happy to travel abroad and in the UK with this cot. Its light and easy to move around and doesn't take up all the room in my boot! |

Very good design, clips rather than velcro is a lot easier. Suited Ruby very well. We liked the Disney branding. In terms of putting it up you needed to really get to grips with how the legs needed to be positioned but then quite easy. The basinette clips to the sides rather than velcro, this was very easy and felt very secure. Full assembly with the changing station took 14 minutes. It came with paper instructions (these could be easily lost), the instructions detailed packing away as well as putting up which was helpful. Ruby seemed very happy in it and enjoyed looking at the toys that hang over the cot too. It was a good size and could be easily used as a playpen too. The main downside for this cot was that it's heavy and and the straps were quite thin so uncomfortable over a period of carrying. I would travel with it abroad, but not if I had to carry it for any long period of time. Again I think it offers value for money, but wouldn't be my first choice. |
I think this was Amy's favourite as it had a toy bar and she had plenty of room to wriggle! For Mum and Dad though this one was difficult to assemble and the instructions were not very clear, so it took us a long time to get our heads round it..not good if you have been travelling a long time! The instruction leaflet was poor in my opinion. Amy seemed comfy in it though, liked the toys and it was a good size. The changing unit was handy and I did really like the idea of the toys for Amy to look at - so good extras. I found it took us a while to pack everything away when we took it down, but was very compact when we'd got it back into its bag. It seemed heavy to lift and the bag didn't seem that sturdy. I thought it seemed a bit expensive for what we got. |
Best design in terms of providing Chloe with something to look at. It looks great when up with the toy bar. The disney pictures are lovely. Nice and bright and plenty to look at. We struggled to put this up because of the leg positions, and the instructions were ok, but I'd have found it helpful to have more illustrations. Chloe seemed happy and comfortable in the cot and I think she liked looking at the toys. It was a good size and could easily be used as a playpen too. It took us a while to dismantle and get back into its bag. It felt heavy to move around and didn't have the benefit of wheels or anything to help move it. I felt in terms of value for money a lot of the price was for the Disney branding rather than the actual Travel Cot and so I felt it was overpriced. |
The Baby Center from Hauck Fun For Kids The Baby Center from Hauck Fun For Kids is a Travel Cot which is versatile, sturdy and offers fantastic value for money. It has a changing station and a light which automatically comes on if baby cries, plus an adjustable mattress height so when you need to change baby, just move the net clips on the side of the cot and the mattress height can be raised, then simply unclip and fix mattress back in the bottom of the cot when your baby needs to be lowered back to the sleeping position. The Baby Center comes complete with mattress, carry bag and has two wheels which make it easy to manoeuvre, plus handy storage pockets and a fun baby mobile. Available in H-Cross Red and H-Cross Blue.

Design was good with storage underneath. It was a lovely bright red colour, perfect for Ruby! It seemed very big with a 4month old in it so there's plenty of room and this cot would be suitable for bigger toddlers too. I found it a bit fiddly to get all the rods into the basinette and then line up with the corners, however once on very secure. We liked the way the chancing station could fold over the edge. It too us 20 minutes to fully assemble. The assembly instructions were very good, but there wasn't much information about how to put it down! Also the instructions were on a paper sheet so easy to lose or leave at home (this could provide lots of problems in the future - i.e. leaving Ruby at her grandparents and them trying to figure it out!). Ruby was very comfortable in this cot and it came with lots of great accessories like the mobile and the light. In terms of actually travelling with this one - it has 2 wheels built in so easy to drag along like a suitcase, so I would travel by car with it but not on plane or train as quite bulky. Good value for money for the good design, all the extras and the size. |
This cot took us over 30 mins to put together, the instructions were clear but I'd have liked more pictures showing us what to do. However I really liked the end result! The bright red colour was nice and because its big it doesn't look just like a cot so I felt comfortable with it being a play pen as well. It came with good accessories - Amy liked the mobile and the changing mat/station was a handy extra. It would mean that you'd have to take less away with you when you travel. The cot took two of us to put up and down and it is quite big to move around. Easy to transport about though as it has wheels. When packed away this cot would take up most of the room in the boot of our car which could be problematic as we would need to fit our buggy in there too, so it wouldn't be an ideal travel choice for us. Having said that I think this cot offers great value for what you get. |
I thought this was the most stylish of the 3 cots, being red it's perfect for girls or boys. It also doesn't look too much like a cot so looks fine as a play pen too. It had detailed instructions and I was expecting it to be easy to put up. However when trying to follow the instructions I found them too vague and would have prefered more illustrations. Once up I had to get my partner to help me put it down as it was a bit tricky on my own. The cot was large and came with a mobile which Chloe seemed to enjoy looking at it and a handy changing station which seemed sturdy. The cot was pretty heavy but the wheels offer some help. In my opinion this cot would be too too bulky to take on an aeroplane (and I'd probably end up paying extra baggage costs for it) and although it would fit in the boot of my car there wouldn't be room for much else! Overall though I think this is a great cot, it offers good value for money and for someone with a big boot on their car this would be great for holidays in the UK where you also wanted the added advantage of a roomy playpen. |
