MOP (Modern Organic Products) Pear Shampoo

Pear shampoo containing certified organic pear purée and soothing Aloe. Contains no harsh lather additives or detergents to dry out tender skin and scalp.

3 stars

I found the packaging a bit boring - it looked a bit like a medicine bottle - I probably would have walked past this in the supermarket as the writing is very small. It lathered quite well although you needed quite a big dollop to do so. It did smell lovely, very fruity and tangy though and William liked it. It did not sting his eyes at all. It left his hair very soft and shiny and it smelt of pear afterwards. I didn't think it was great value for money so wouldn't buy it again.

5 stars

I really liked the bottle - simple yet effective and stood out. The shampoo smelt lovely and lathered well. Erin liked the smell of this one best - more than the shampoo I normally use. It didn't sting the children's eyes and hair was shiny, clean looking and easy to comb after using. I tried it on both the girls and myself and we all loved it! It is quite expensive compared to other shampoos but I didn't need to use a lot so I believe will last quite a while, therefore I would buy it again.

5 stars

We really loved this shampoo - the girls liked it and I used it too! It smelt gorgeous and the scent stayed on Elsa's hair. It was easy to comb afterwards and didn't sting her eyes. The only thing I wasn't sure about was the writing was very small on the packaging - but I did like the stylish look of the bottle. It was expensive, but I would buy it again as a special treat...and the bottle was bigger than the other two tested, so if they had all been the same size then the cost might have been more even.

4 stars

This shampoo lathered very well. I cannot decide if I liked the smell or not but it is very distinctive!!!! William liked it and it did not sting his eyes. It left his hair soft, shiny and bright. It was very clean smelling with a slight aroma left. The packaging was nice, subtle colours but attractive and draws you in to look more closely at the bottle. It is value for money and I would possibly buy this brand again.

4 stars

I liked the packaging - it showed clear information and the pale pink and blue colours are good as people often link these colours to baby products. The shampoo lathered well and smelt fruity and good. It left my daughters hair shiny and clean smelling and was much easier to comb out knots after use. Lavera is good value for money and reasonably priced.

3 stars

I wasn't too keen on the packaging of this bottle as I thought it looked a bit old-fashioned. The smell was strong, and again I wasn't so keen on it. The shampoo lathered well though and left Elsa's hair nice and shiny. It was value for money, but I wouldn't rush to buy it again.

Green People Organic Lavender Shampoo

Organic Aloe Vera, Lavender & Tea Tree shampoo for children. None-irritating for a healthy, happy child, free from SLS and Lanolin. Made with natural and rich foaming agents using extracts of corn and coconut. A little goes a long way as the high quality formulation is full of goodness, not water! Soothing and calming with a delicate floral scent– ideal for sensitive scalps.

4 stars

The packaging was very nice and bright. Very colourful and the wording stands out and attracts you to it. It lathers extremely well (maybe too much so!) and you only need a small amount. It smelt nice while shampooing William's hair. William wasn't too keen on it though as it was very lathery and took a while to get it rinsed off. It did not sting his eyes though. His hair was soft and clean smelling although the lavender smell did not last. I do think this is value for money and I would possibly buy it again.

4 stars

The bottle had an appealing design on the front which Erin liked with clear information on ingredients and directions for use. The shampoo lathered well and I didn't have to use much as it was very concentrated. My 3yr old daughter said it smelt lovely probably because it is lavender and she loves the smell of lavender! Erin's hair was clean and shiny although a bit tangled after use and not as easy to comb through as the other shampoos, it did however say to follow with conditioner for fine or tangled hair afterwards so that might have helped. It was good value for money as cheaper than the others but very concentrated - I'd buy it again.

4 stars

I liked the bright, fresh packaging of this shampoo. It smelt nice and Elsa liked the bottle and picture of the soapy character on the front. I thought it was the most 'child-friendly' bottle - the other two were more grown-up. The shampoo smelt nice and didn't sting eyes. It was good value for money and I'd buy it again.

Overall Winner MOP Pear Shampoo

Two of the testers loved this brand so much they gave it five out of five! Although it was percieved as a luxury brand Mums felt it was value for money.

Environmentally Friendly Baby Wipes

Alison & William Tracey & Erin and Sophie Tamsin & Morva

Perfectly Happy People Flushable Wipes

Gently perfumed wipes you can use for nappy changing or hand washing and then simply flush away. Use these large sized wipes to clean babies bottom thoroughly and flush away with your one-way lines. Fully bio-degradable. Not tested on animals.

3 stars

The packaging was good with big bright wording on it. Hard to get out of the packet as they as flimsy compared to other wipes. They had a faint aroma with a nice smell, not overpowering at all. They were very wet and felt slightly "greasy" and left my hands wet afterwards. I had to use more than I would on my normal brand as they are flimsy even though the size of the wipe is larger than "normal" brands. Yes, they are value for money but I would not buy again, unless I used re-usable nappies as to keep the wipes separate and then go upstairs to flush was a real pain.

2 stars

The packaging was bright and colourful which I liked. I found these wipes quite hard to use - they didn't come out easily and sometimes tore. I thought they had a very chemical smell and were too wet and very thin although I realise that this because they are flushable. I had to use more than my usual brand and didn't think they were good value for money even though there was more in the packet. I did not feel comfortable using them on my 3 month old but used them as toilet wet wipes for Erin. Not a conventional size so did not fit in usual wipes containers, generally I didn't like them very much.

5 stars

When I first opened these wipes I really wasn't sure about them! They felt kind of crunchy to touch and I thought they might be a bit harsh on Morva's skin - but they were great! They were the best performing wipe, I liked the larger size and they were wet enough but not soapy. They were in fact very soft on Morva's bottom - and I loved the fact that they could be flushed away. I would definitely buy these again.

4 stars

I liked the packaging of these wipes, subtle but says what they are and it is attractive to look at. They were a bit hard to get out of the packet at first when full, but got easier the more I used. They didn't have any scent at all and this was a bit boring really. They were wet enough and not greasy like some other wipes. I used about the same amount as my normal brand maybe the odd one more if the nappy was really bad. These are definitely value for money and I would buy these again.

5 stars

The packaging had good natural texture and gave good impression of a natural product, and the information on the back explained concept of Nature babycare which was interesting. The wipes came out easily. They are fragrance free so did not smell of anything really - but I prefer that. They weren't as wet/moist as the ones I normally use but that was ok and I used about the same amount as normal. I felt they were good value for money although slightly more than my usual brand - I would buy them again especially as I have seen them in more shops recently!

3 stars

I am a huge fan of Nature Babycare nappies - and have used them for both the girls, so I was really looking forward to testing the wipes. The packaging looks great, and they were easy to get out and use...but they were too dry for Morva. I couldn't clean her properly with them and ended up using lots more than usual. I did think they were good value for money in terms of price, but not for me as the performance meant I used more.

Earth Friendly Baby - Eco Baby Wipes

100% Biodegradable soft and thick baby wet wipes that are kind to the environment and your baby's skin. The liquid solution contains soothing organic chamomile and organic calendula. Formulated with mild ingredients to gently cleanse baby's delicate skin.

5 stars

These were my favourite - nice packaging, colourful wording. Very bright green lettering. They were a bit hard to get out of packet at first but got easier as more in the pack was used. The scent was lovely and fresh. The wipes were wet enough and not at all greasy and did not leave my hands wet. I used the same amount as my normal brand. They are value for money and I would buy them again.

4 stars

I liked the bright and colourful packaging. They smelt of camomile and calendula which I liked. On the downside I thought these wipes were a bit too wet and had a soapy texture and I didn't find they came out of the packet very easily. I did think they were good value for money though and liked the fact that they were 100% biodegradable.

2 stars

I found these wipes far too soapy and wet - they seemed to lather up when I used them! I felt I needed to dry Morva after using them which just isn't practical when you are out and about. I wouldn't buy them again - the price was fine and they are value for money, but I didn't like them.

Overall Winner Nature Babycare Bio Wet Wipes
