Name: Wendy Cortis
Family: Hubby Michael, 3 and a half year old twin boys Ethan and Jack
How often do you work?
4 days a week (4 one hour classes a week)
How does the job fit around your family life?
It fits round my family life great, I can take the boys to nursery and spend more quality time with them. The stress of my previous job as a teacher has gone and therefore the boys have 'happier' Mammy.
How much time do you commit?
I currently deliver 4 classes over 4 half days. Some admin and preparation to do from home but easy to work around my day to day.
Where do you carry out your work?
My classes are in Ponteland, Blyth, Wideopen and Cramlington. In a mix of leisure centres, community centres and halls.
Do you need a car?
You definitely need a car to fit everything in. Although I manage fine in my Micra!
Do you get support/training?
I'm one of the newer franchisees so the other girls have been amazing! Offering support, resonding to my many questions, inviting me to their sessions! We're a great time. Obviously Rachel has been amazing from the very beginning. The operations manual gives you everything you need, Rachel provides any additional training and is ALWAYS there whenever you need advice or help. Rachel also does a lot of promoting from her main pages.
Would you recommend this opportunity to other mums?
Yes I would definately recommend to others.
Do you advertise?
I advertise on website listings and facebook. I use flyers, roll up banners and outdoor banners too. Rachel the Franchisor advertises for us too.
Are there any downsides to the role?
