Alzheimer’s Society Memory Advice Volunteers

Make a genuine difference to the lives of people concerned about memory loss or dementia by becoming a Memory Advice Volunteer with Alzheimer’s Society. Give as little as half a day each week to support the Memory Support Services team to provide an effective information and signposting service for people who need additional support to access information or services to which they have been signposted.
We offer one-to-one support for individuals and their carers, from their initial concerns about memory loss, through diagnosis, to planning for the future. The service is run out of our offices in Aylesbury by a team of staff and is supported by a small number of Memory Advice volunteers.
Between 20 and 30 hours per week.
We like volunteers who can commit to doing the role for at least a year. We cover all agreed out of pocket expenses and also provide on-going support and training.

No particular experience is required. The ideal person is someone who is willing to learn, has good empathy, great communication skills and lives in the Ayelsbury area.
