South African Fashion Jewellery
How often do you work?
I spend a couple of hours a week on the phone speaking making contacts, chasing contacts and arranging places I can show off the jewellery. In terms of actually running parties I probably do about 5 a month, but I will be hoping to increase this around to Christmas to at least a couple a week.
How does the job fit around your family life?
Its fine - I sometimes do daytime parties when the children are at School, but mainly it is in the evening and I get my husband to babysit!
How much time do you commit?
It depends on the time of the year...usually a party takes about a hour and a half.
Where do you carry out your work?
I host parties in my own house, but also at other people's houses and at ad hoc places like the School gates!
How much space do you have?
My kit doesn't take up much space - and I only need a table to lay the jewellery out on.
Do you need a car?
I wouldn't say it is essential. The jewellery isn't heavy to carry around.
Do you advertise?
Not really.
How did you hear about the job?
On the Internet
Do you get support/training?
We all get together in Februaury time for the launch of the new collection. That was at a hotel at East Midlands Airport last year. Usually if I have any questions I telephone my area manager.
Are there any downsides to the role?
Only that I keep wanting to spend all the money I earn on more jewellery!
Would you recommend this opportunity to other Mums?
Yes - and especially now as the company is just starting to take off in the UK. There are only about 300 people selling Miglio at the moment, so you may find you will be the only consultant in your area and can take advantage of bringing something totally new to people.
