How often do you work?
It depends, normally 2 parties a week although I will be holding more now that Christmas is coming up.
How does the job fit around your family life?
Very well, I hold parties in the evening when my husband is at home or during the day when the children are at school.
How much time do you commit?
The parties normally take a couple of hours and I need about 15 minutes to set out my stock. It takes me around 30 minutes to place my orders and then that's it! Jolie Bijoux take care of all the distribution of my orders and deal with any queries on my orders if there are any. It's a real plus not to have to wait for the goods to be delivered to me and then have to sort them out and deliver them.
Where do you carry out your work?
People's homes, mother and toddler groups, gyms, local offices
How much space do you have for your kit/stock?
You are provided with a carry case and everything fits in there, it's the size of a small holdall, I keep mine under the stairs.
Do you need a car?
It's not essential but I drive and it means I can hold parties further away.
Do you advertise?
Only by word of mouth. The website gets a lot of visits so I get referrals from there. There is also a lot of PR for Jolie Bijoux jewellery so when it gets mentioned in the glossies and press we are told in advance and I tend to let people know about the feature, which is a great advertisement for me as they often prove to be the most popular pieces.
How did you hear about the job?
I was buying jewellery on the website and saw the advert.
Do you get support/training?
You get a training guide and depending on where you live, Lisa (manager for parties) delivers the kit herself and gives plenty of tips on how to succeed. The back up from the head office is great and you can always get hold of someone in and out of office hours.
Are there any downsides to the role?
None that I've come across.
Would you recommend this opportunity to other Mums?
Absolutely!
