Please contact us via email or telephone to register your interest and find out more about these training days.
How often do you work?
1 or 2 evenings a week but it really does vary
How does the job fit around your family life?
Perfectly as the parties are fairly local and usually start at around 7.30 when my husband is putting my daughter to bed. Coffee mornings are popular too and of course fit in with school hours.
How much time do you commit?
It varies depending on other commitments but I can suit myself really. There is always a call for parties so it just depends how quickly I want to fill my diary. I can choose to work weekends or not.
Where do you carry out your work?
Depending on whether it is private party or a fundraising event it can be either in someone's home or at a local church or school etc.
Do you need a car?
Yes for transporting products.
Do you advertise?
At the moment I am not as I'm keeping busy without it. Word of mouth is very important and there is lots of potential for future bookings at parties.
How did you hear about the job?
Through visiting the shop at Backridge farm.
Do you get support/training?
Yes both. Lisa is very professional and always keeps up to date with how things are going from my point of view. She keeps me informed of new products etc and gives me leads for parties in my area. I am looking forward to the training day at the end of May when we will get to taste some new choccies!
Are there any downsides to the role?
Apart from needing bags of willpower to stop me from eating my party pack, there are no downsides from my point of view.
Would you recommend this opportunity to other Mums?
I think it is a great opportunity for mums as it is flexible and fits in with school hours. There is huge scope for approaching toddler groups and other local groups that meet during the day as well as the usual evening parties. The history of chocolate, how it gets from bean to bar and all the health benefits are fascinating to learn about and you can really personalise your party with games and quizzes too if you like. Chocolate is not difficult to sell and so it doesn't take long to see the pennies adding up!
