Ethical High-Street beauty brand
How often do you work?
I currently run about 2 parties a week. I also go out and speak to new potential recruits about joining the company. I am hoping to get promoted to Manager level and so am working to achieve this.
How does the job fit around your family life?
My husband works shifts, so I book parties for times when I know he is at home and so can look after the children. As well as juggling my three children and Body Shop at Home I also have a full-time job, so you can see it really can fit in with a busy life!
How much time do you commit?
Each party takes between 2-3 hours, although this has to be flexible depending on what the party is like, number of people attending etc..
Where do you carry out your work?
In people's houses. Body Shop at Home has also recently joinied forces with the High Street retail shops, so now consultants can go into stores and promote parties and the 'at home shopping experience' to people out and about shopping.
How much space do you have?
I keep my kit in a couple of boxes, normally these live in my hall near my front door. Sometimes I leave them in my car. They don't take up a huge amount of space.
Do you need a car?
I have one.
Do you advertise?
I tend to get bookings from parties - it keeps the business on-going. Some consultants are getting lots of new business from the in-store promotion option. Other people do put up posters and leave catalogues in Dr's waiting rooms etc..
How did you hear about the job?
I went to a party at a friend's house.
Do you get support/training?
There is loads of on-going trainging and refresher courses. My Manager is always helping me - her support is fantastic!
Are there any downsides to the role?
None that I can think of, and I've been working for Body Shop at Home for 2 years!
Would you recommend this opportunity to other Mums?
Yes! I can make it work with a full-time job and 3 children, so it really is flexible.
