Name: Christine
Location: Sheffield
Family: 2 children

How often do you work?
3 days a week for 6 weeks, once every six months

How does the job fit around your family life?
Very well - I choose my hours and set my work schedule so I can fit it in around other commitments

How much roughly did the franchise cost you?
£2995

What did that investment buy?
The full Start-Up Pack

Do you get support/training?
Yes, it was really important in those early days.

Are there on-going costs?
No - just sitting having cups of coffee talking to people which is very pleasant!

How much do you earn (roughly)?
So far I've just produced my first edition which, after paying for the start up pack, left me with a profit of £5,500.

Do you advertise?
No, just through word of mouth.

What is the best thing about Shopper's Guide to.. for you?
Meeting people, choosing when to work and the satisfaction of producing a great publication myself.

Are there any downsides to the job?
The only thing I don't like is chasing people for money if they're late paying. Fortunately it's only happened with two people who have since paid.

Would you recommend this franchise opportunity to other Mums?
Absolutely! It's a great way to earn extra money for holidays or a new car, or home improvements - I'm really looking forward to doing my next edition!
