Franchise Facts
What is the business?
Funky Feet is a fresh and innovative approach to dance and the performing arts. Its main aim is to make dance inclusive to all by providing parties to children and young people throughout the whole of the UK.
Funky Feet provide a variety of movement based games, parachute activities and fun dances for children's birthday parties 4-12 years old. For older children, (8 years +) a street style routine is also taught. Parties can be specifically tailored to each child. The birthday child receives a free Funky Feet T Shirt, Cap and Birthday Card. Parties take place in venues such as a community centre or village hall.
Investment required:
Initial investment is £420, which covers initial training days, materials including uniform, CRB (police check) and an operations manual. Public Liability insurance will also be required (approximately £80 per year).
Once the training is completed and the course has been passed, a set fee per party is payable to Funky Feet - this means that money is only given to Funky Feet when you run a party.
Earning Potential:
£variable - the number of hours is dependent on how much you would like to work and how many parties are booked. Minimum of £30 per hour, maximum £75 per hour, depending on how many children attend a party.
Is there training/support for franchisees?
Yes. Two full days of initial training, an operations manual and ongoing support and advice. You don't need to have danced professionally or have run a dance class before. As long as you have at least two years experience of working with children, ability with dance and movement and you are reasonably well organised and business minded then a Funky Feet franchise could be ideal.
Best suited to:
Those who have limited hours per week for working and who need their work to flexibly fit around the commitments of a family or busy life. As most parties take place at the weekends, it may make childcare easier if other family members are at work through the week.
For more information:
Interested 'Funkateers' are invited to apply with a CV and Supportive Statement in the first instance, followed by a telephone interview to ensure suitability before attending a two day course. Please email or telephone for an informal chat or for further guidance on the Supportive Statement.
