Marlene Sandberg was a successful lawyer based in Stockholm and Mum of one son, pregnant with her second. Whilst reading about waste associated with disposable nappies she felt guilty about products she was using for her son and commenced a search for a safer nappy to use. Through her research Marlene realised that the waste associated with disposable nappies was creating a global environmental threat - and when she realised that she couldn't find a nappy on the market which was environmentally friendly she was inspired to create her own!

Experiments commenced, and Marlene sold her shares in her law firm to fund her dream. It was a risk and took 5 years of hard work before she had designed a Biodegradable Disposable nappy that was ready to be sold in her home country Sweden.

1994 heralded the arrival of the Nature Babycare Biodegradable Disposable nappies, and since their appearance in Sweden Marlene has seen the Eco message become a major subject worldwide and now many mothers with the same views as her are now using Nature Babycare Nappies.

The nappy range is soft and gentle on baby's skin, delivers high performance and most importantly is Biodegradable. The nappies are composed of outer bioplastic which is based on GM-free maize starch and a decomposable and compostable 100% biodegradable polyester - which is 100% biodegradable in the natural environment.

Nature Babycare has come a long way since its launch in 1994 and now Nature Babycare Nappies are available in Belgium Korea, Australia, United Kingdom, Holland and soon they will be available for mothers in America.
