How often do you work?
When parties are booked

How does the job fit around your family life?
It's ideal as I dictate when I want to work. I liaise with the hostess to find a suitable time and date for both of us.

How much time do you commit?
I spent some time setting up everything in the first place, getting to know the products, printing details of items from our website that are not included in the catalogue etc. I do some leaflet dropping when I go shopping but in the main, I only need to spend time getting ready for parties when they are booked.

Where do you carry out your work?
In Hampshire as well as the surrounding area.

How much space do you need for your kit?
I bought the medium sized kit and it fits in one cardboard box. I also have some carrier bags, party invites and order forms in a smaller box so overall the kit doesn't take up much room and is stored in the corner of our dining room.

Do you need a car?
Yes, in order to be able to get to and transport the products to parties.

Do you advertise?
The company provides postcards which we write our reference number on before distributing. I have left these on cars parked in Parent & Child spaces in supermarkets and shopping centres. I have placed an advert in our local community newsletter and advertised on websites dedicated to mms and babies.

How did you hear about the job?
I saw the owner, Julie White successfully winning investment on the TV programme "Dragons' Den". I had given birth to Charlotte 2 months before and knew I wouldn't be able to go back to my job and so needed to find a way to earn money. I thought this would be a perfect opportunity.

Do you get support/training?
Julie telephoned me after I received my starter kit and gave me a few ideas and tips about running parties. She also sent through a pack which contained information on the products we sell. Julie sends regular update emails to all consultants. We can also phone and email her any time we have any questions.

Are there any downsides to the role?
The income is not fixed or regular as you are dependent on mums booking parties.

Would you recommend this opportunity to other Mums?
Yes. It's a great way to get out and meet people and earn money at the same time. There's always someone you know who has or is having a baby!
